Order and Responsibility
Clarity is Speed
When everyone knows what to do, who is doing it, and when it’s due, projects move forward smoothly. Ambiguity is the enemy of progress.
The Logic of Sequence: First Things First
Many tasks have dependencies, meaning one step must be completed before another can begin. For example, you can’t analyze survey data until the survey has been sent out. As a Yellow Belt, it’s important to look at the actions and understand this logical order. If the sequence seems wrong, it’s worth asking about.
Why Deadlines are Commitments
A deadline is a promise to your teammates. Because tasks are often dependent on each other, missing your deadline can have a ripple effect, causing others to miss theirs as well. Treat deadlines seriously. If you think you are at risk of missing one, communicate it early (as we learned in the “Ask for Help” module).
Clarity of Ownership: Who Does What?
Every action and every step must have a single, clear owner. When ownership is unclear, tasks fall through the cracks because everyone assumes someone else is handling it. If you are ever unsure who owns a task that affects your work, ask for clarification immediately.
